After my roomate told April that I was working late when I wasn't, the tension between the two grew.
So I came up with a quick story that my roomate needed to leave, the home owner's association found out I was subletting.
It wasn't a real loss anyway, during the time I had a roomate, I paid all but one $120 cable bill. So I told my roomate 10 days until she needs to move out, and that was that.

Posted: 2007-03-20 13:10:00Doug demanded the car back from April, she was having a hard time making the payments anyway.
Little did I know, his plans were as stupid as they get. He demanded the car back, she was making payments, but getting behind, so now he called the finance company and asked for a voluntary repo!
So now the car's gone, April needs transportation. I gave her my car I rode my motorcycle to work. On the way home, I had a minor malfunction, the bike wouldn't start. Most peole are not very inclined to give a motorcycle a jump start, so I called her.
She gives me a jump.
For shits and giggles, I figure there's no harm in looking for a used replacement vehicle. We find an older sedan the price is right. With no established work history, she doesn't stand a chance of getting credit. Since I don't have a down payment, I ask to finance the whole thing. The bank accepts it, $170 a month for two years, perfect.
Posted: 2007-03-22 09:55:00Since it's now become quite clear to Doug that April's serious about leaving him, and making her life difficult by taking her hard earned paycheck from her Doug has put a new tactic in place. He's showing his true colors by keeping April from seeing her children.
I advised her to get a lawyer, which she did get a consultation.

Posted: 2007-03-22 10:12:00It's been almost a week, she hasn't gone back to the lawyer.
She wants to pay off her credit cards with the loan I gave her. I say no, the money was to pay the lawyer to fight for visitation, use it for that.
Posted: 2007-03-22 10:13:00She's still sitting on the loan. Plus, she brought home a kitten from someone she knows. I don't mind. As long as the cat gets along with my dog, there'll be no problems. My dog does not chase cats.
But "he", she thought it was a she needs to be fixed. So does the cat my roomate gave me when she left, since she couldn't take her to the temporary home.
I don't want kittens, so off to the vet, snippity snippity. For both, it's a hundred bucks or so. I let April pay for it, because she's sitting on my loan of $2000 anyway.
I let her pay a few other bills, now she has about $1300 left. I'm hoping this prompts her to do something.
Posted: 2007-03-22 10:20:00Finally she's going back to the lawyer. I recommended a lawyer that has done work for me, but specializes in family law. She wants my support, I have to go with her. I do.
The lawyer, a woman, asks tons of questions. She asks if April wants her to handle the divorce too. So now it's divorce and custody. $1000 retainer, and the wheels of the machine start turning.
Posted: 2007-03-22 10:24:00It's way early in the morning, the phone rings.
It's Doug. He found out about the divorce reading the newspaper. He's pissed. I can understand. But you shouldn't be a prick to your wife and you are less likely to end up in this situation.
Posted: 2007-03-22 10:43:00Going through all this, April wanted to just get away from it all. It's been a while since I went on a vacation any way. So I schedule time off work, we take a drive to North Carolina.
Everything goes really well. I met her niece. She's very nice. We do touristy stuff, spend time on the beach. After several days, we head back.
Posted: 2007-07-17 14:34:00We're at the bar, listening to the band and drinking a few beers. She told me that she bounced a check, she didn't have the money, but wrote it anyway.
Nice. I ask her how much the fees are, I'll pay it. $200! Apearantly it happened a while ago and the fees have added up.
indicates post was from memory.
